This painting was made after a photo I took during my visit to Parc’Ours, an animal park located in the French Pyrenees. Bears are animals that sometimes inspire fear, sometimes admiration… For me, they are above all synonymous of serenity. It’s my second bear, and I wanted this one to have a steady look. Just there, to observe, to stare at the one in front of him. Without violence, with a slightly reproving air, as if he was trying to convey a message to Men watching him, to lecture them about their actions, to encourage them to think about what they’re doing. The painting was made with acrylic, on a coated cotton canvas measuring 50 × 50 cm.
